TMS Dataloggers

Click for TMS-4 details

The TMS dataloggers offer a unique possibility to collect data in extreme conditions and rural areas. Each device is completely autonomous. It can measure and collect data over the course of 10 years without replacing the battery or deleting old data (it can record up to 524 288 events). Data is easily downloaded using an adapter, which is connected to the PC via USB cable. TMS dataloggers are cheaper compared to other commercial devices, hence facilitating long-term measurements over large spacial areas.

The TMS dataloggers have a wide range of applications for research in the fields of biology, ecology, soil sciences, hydrology, climatology etc. It can also be used in agriculture, horticulture and forestry – monitoring growing conditions in the field, greenhouse, growth chambers etc. Other possible applications include monitoring conditions in grain stores and any other places where it is important to monitor the course of moisture and temperature.

Currently, we have wide experience with their use in a several research projects in Europe, America, Africa, Australia and Asia.

At the moment we offer three types of dataloggers:

TMS-4

The TMS-4 dataloggers offer a great possibility to measure air and soil temperature as well as soil moisture thanks to three temperature sensors and one soil moisture sensor. Its high capacity lithium battery has a lifespan of approximately 10 years. Combined with the large memory, capable of 524,288 data recordings, each TMS logger is autonomous and requires minimal maintenance. All that, along with its exceptionally low price and robust construction, facilitates long-term measurements over large special areas in harsh conditions.

Thermologger

New variation of the TMS datalogger, designed for measuring air temperature. It consists of one thermosensor and it is possible to hang it on trees.

Point Dendrometer

The Point Dendrometer measures stem diameter changes < 1 μm in user defined intervals. It can measure changes in wood and bark separately. Also, the dendrometer is able to measure air temperature,

How does it work

The dataloggers are automatically set up in production to collect data every 15 minutes, so when you receive them they are already measuring. You cannot turn them off; given the long battery lifespan and large memory capacity it would be useless. By using Lolly Manager, you can select the time schedule of your measurements. You will find more information on that in our Lolly manual.

What you need

  • Datalogger of your choice (TMS-4, Thermologger, or Point Dendrometer).
  • TMD adapter for extracting data and setting up your datalogger.
  • Lolly Manager software (download for free). During installation you need to have the TMD adapter plugged into your PC. Both the software and the adapter are compatible with all our datalogger variations.
