Sun Shields
Sun shields protect the temperature sensors from direct sunlight, helping ensure that measured temperature data is not affected by solar radiation.
Sunshield Set
The Sunshield Set includes:
- Sun Shield TOP
- Meteo Shield TOP
- Security ring
Sun Shield TOP
The TOP sun shield covers the upper temperature sensor to reduce the effect of direct sunlight.
Sun Shield Security Ring
The security ring is easy to install and holds the shield firmly in place. It helps prevent the shield from being blown off or removed by accident.
Meteo Shield
The Meteo Shield adds multiple protective barriers. The top shield (Meteo Shield TOP) blocks direct sunlight, while the lower shield (Sun Shield TOP) helps reduce heat transfer and provides extra protection from remaining sunlight.
The Meteo Shield consists of two parts (lower and upper). Field testing showed the lower part provides little additional benefit, so by default only the upper/TOP is used.
Sun Shields BOT
The BOTTOM sun shield was originally used to protect the second (middle) temperature sensor, but based on field experience it showed little to no effect. The TOP sun shield provides sufficient protection for typical use.
The BOTTOM Meteo and Sun Shields are still available separately, but are not included by default.
